Indy Racing League

Codemasters is planning to bring the little know (in the UK at least) sport of Indy Car racing to the PS2. Indy Racing League is the official licensed game of the Indy 500 and Indy Race League, the US equivalent of F1 racing. This title promises to capture all the thrills that this high-octane sport enjoys Stateside. Covering 15 races in different American states, plus the famous 500 mile Indianapolis challenge. Game details are scarce as drivers and car manufactures have yet to be confirmed for the new season. The game will feature TV-style presentation, advanced AI and realistic car physics, handling and damage. The official license guarantees the rights to use accurately modelled tracks, real teams, cars and drivers. Indy Racing League is out in 2003.

Lamborghini

Rage has obtained the licence to make a game based on one of the most desirable cars on the market, Lamborghini. There will be at least 20 different models of Lamborghini in the game including the 350 GT and Countach 25th GT. You start the game by joining a millionaires club with an entry level car. The championship is split up into a number of races based on the car class. The player will compete in the races with 15 other AI characters from the club of varying levels of skill and aggression.

Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers

The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers is based on events from the movie "The Fellowship of the Ring" and the forthcoming "The Two Towers". There will be three playable characters Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas. Each will have there own unique skills and weapons. As you progress in the game you will meet key characters from the movie including Frodo and Gandalf. The real-life actors will lend their voices for their respective character in the game. The action will span across 13 levels covering key scenes from the first two movies, including Mines of Moria and Helm's Deep. The developers have had in-depth access to original movie material from New Line Cinema. The textures, lightning effects and animation are all stunning. There are plenty of enemies to deal with including Orcs, Urak Hai warriors, Ring Wraiths and hopefully Gollum will make an appearance. Boss battles will include the cave troll and Saruman. The gameplay is being described as tactical combat, so strategic selection of characters and weapons will be vital. The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers is due for release in November.
